Temporarily Changing a Responder’s Home Dispatch Center

These application instructions can apply to long term details if the responder's home unit wants to retain responder record access in IQCS but temporarily change the dispatch organization. For example, a USFS responder from Malheur National Forest (OR-MAF) is detailing to George Washington & Jefferson National Forests (VA-VAF) for a greater than 30-day detail. The responder's home unit wants to retain the certification management of responder's qualifications but the record needs to be dispatched by Virginia Interagency Coordination Center (VA-VIC) and not by Burns Interagency Communication Center (OR-BIC).

Instructions - Changing a Responder's Dispatch Unit ID and Jetport

  1. Navigate to Responder Administration > Job Data.

  2. Search and select responder.

  3. Click the + button in the top right corner of the Work Location page to add a new row.

  4. Update the Dispatch Unit ID and Jetport to the new dispatch location.

    • For the example, DO NOT change the organizational code (org code). This way the home unit will retain certification management of responder's qualifications, but the new dispatch center (a new home dispatch) will control the resource for mobilization in IROC.

  5. Save changes.

    • This will send data change message to IRWIN for the responders Dispatch Unit ID and their Jetport. Upon IROC reading in the change the responder’s IROC record will be moved to the new dispatch organization.

For the example, once the detail is complete, the account manager can follow these same steps to set the Dispatch Unit ID and Jetport fields back to their home unit.
